While ‘rape’ of the minor girls has recently stirred the nation, in a shocking incident, an 80-year old woman was allegedly raped by a 41-year-old man in Tamil Nadu.
As per police, the victim widow woman was living alone at Gopalapuram in Malliakari of Tamil Nadu. Around midnight on 10th, the alleged victim named Palanivel, went to the woman’s house and asked for water, but she refused. Suddenly, he forced his way into the house and allegedly raped the woman. The man even bit the victim’s private parts perhaps with an intention to erase proof of the crime.

Following the condition the nearby local residents called an ambulance and rushed the woman to Attur Government Hospital from where she was shifted to Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital in Salem. Her condition is still critical as per the doctors, who are attending her and she is battling for life.
The accused Palanivel is a vegetable vendor, of Malliyakari and he has two wives and four children. He was detained by the local people and was handed over to police who arrested him and charged him with section 376 of the Indian Penal Code, constitution the offense of rape and other sections.
