Yuvraj Shines, India beat Australia in T20
Yuvraj Singh played a match-winning knock of 77* off 35 balls to power India to a six-wicket victory over Australia in the one-off T20 match. Aaron Finch’s 89 off 52 balls went in vain, as Yuvi set the Rajkot stadium on fire with his explosive batting.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first. Australia posted 201/7 in 20 overs. Finch made 89, while Maddinson scored 34. Maxwell contributed 34. For India, Vinay Kumar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets each.
India lost Rohit Sharma early, but Dhawan batted well before being perished at 32. Kohli too did not last long and made 29. Raina, who came at No. 3, scored 19. Yuvraj and Dhoni added unbeaten 102 runs for the fifth wicket – a record for India for this wicket in T20. Yuvraj remained unbeaten on 77 with 8 boundaries and 5 sixes. Dhoni was not out on 24. Clint McKay took two wickets. Yuvraj Singh was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
