Elephants

The incident occurred last night when the elephant herd of 19 were crossing the railway tracks. They were hit by a freight train.

There seems to be no cohesive policy as regards to wildlife rescue as in this case and though it is a unique and isolated case of its kind.

Every year on August 12th, World Elephant Day is commemorated across the world to raise awareness about the suffering of captive Asian and African elephants.
