Breaking News! It’s official now! Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has announced his retirement from Test cricket after playing his 200th Test match, which will be played against the West Indies in November. Sachin has so far played 198 Test matches.
While announcing his retirement from Test cricket, Sachin has revealed that it’s a tough decision for him, as he never imagined of living without cricket.
“All my life, I have had a dream of playing cricket for India. I have been living this dream every day for the last 24 years. It’s hard for me to imagine a life without playing cricket because it’s all I have ever done since I was 11 years old. It’s been a huge honour to have represented my country and played all over the world. I look forward to playing my 200th Test Match on home soil, as I call it a day,” said Sachin.

“I thank the BCCI for everything over the years and for permitting me to move on when my heart feels it’s time. I thank my family for their patience and understanding. Most of all, I thank my fans and well-wishers who through their prayers and wishes have given me the strength to go out and perform at my best,” he further added.
Sachin has already retired from the ODIs and T20 cricket. He has scored 15,837 runs in 198 Tests at an average of 53.86 with 51 hundreds and 67 fifties. He has also scored four double hundreds with a career best of 248*. He has also taken 45 wickets.
In ODI, Sachin Tendulkar has scored 18,426 runs in 463 matches at an average of 44.83. He scored 49 hundreds and 96 fifties with a career-best score of 200*. He also took 154 wickets.
Sachin Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan on November 15, 1989. He played his last Test against Australia March 22, 2013. The first Test match between India and West Indies will be held on November 6-10. It will Sachin’s 199th Test match. He will play his 200th Test on November 14-18. Tendulkar’s 200th Test is supposed to be played in Mumbai.
