Rohit, Raina regain Form; India win 4th ODI
Virat Kohli showed utmost generosity by allowing Suresh Raina to come at No. 3 and it clicked. Raina and opener Rohit Sharma struck form, as India defeated Zimbabwe by 9 wickets in the 4th ODI to take a 4-0 lead in the five-match ODI series. Both of them scored unbeaten fifties.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Zimbabwe bowled out for 144 in 42.4 overs. Mohit Sharma impressed on debut, as he took two wickets by conceding just 26 runs in 10 overs, with three maiden ones. Amit Mishra took three wickets, while Jadeja took two wickets. Chigumbura remained unbeaten on 50. Malcolm Waller (35) and Sibanda (24) were the other contributors.
Chasing a victory target of 145, India lost Cheteshwar Pujara early. However, Rohit Sharma (64*) and Suresh Raina (65*) added unbeaten 122 for the second wicket to see their team through. Mohit Sharma was declared ‘Man of the Match’ on debut. He became the second Indian after Sandeep Patil to win ‘Man of the Match’ on ODI debut. The fifth and final ODI will be held on August 3.
