Red Cross Society joins Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (Clean India Mission) on Friday. The society organized the cleanliness drive at Rampur Basti, Bhubaneswar under the leadership of Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, IRCS, OSB along with Red Cross members, volunteers and staff member of IRCS, OSB.
The Red Cross members along with large number of volunteers took up the cleanliness programme by wielding brooms and sweeping the area and appealed the people of the state capital to keep their surroundings clean for a healthy and hygienic environment.
The participants also displayed the Banners & Placards in order to create awareness among the people about the Clean India Mission. They also requested the people to make a habit of keeping clean surroundings as a daily routine of their life.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) is a national level campaign by the Government of India to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country. This campaign aims to accomplish the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘clean India’ by 2nd October 2019, 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
