Popular Odia Comedian-cum-Actress Sadhana alias Runu Parija died of a heart attack. She breathed her last today. She was just 52. Runu, who made her film debut in 1978, has been active in Odia TV serials in the last few years. She excelled both in comic and character roles.
Runu entered the film career with Priyatama in 1978. Her other movies included ‘Batasi Jhada’, ‘Jaga Balia’, ‘Jor Jar Mulak Tar’, ‘Bhuli Huena’, ‘Daiba Daudi’, ‘Laxman Rekha’, ‘Ganga Jamuna’, ‘Suna Palinki’, ‘Kandhei Akhire Luha’, ‘Akashe Ki Ranga Lagila’. Her last film was ‘Puni Dekha Heba Ara Janamare’ in 2014.
She started her career as Sadhana Das, but later became popular as Runu. After marriage, she took the surname of Parija. Runu is survived by her husband, noted film director Himanshu (Chandi) Parija and a daughter. She is the sister-in-law of legendary Hara Pattnaik.
