TNI Bureau: The BJP has gone aggressive to protest against Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s “Hindu Terror” remarks. In Delhi, Sushma Swaraj is leading the protests at Jantar Mantar. BJP President Rajnath Singh has also joined the protests.
The BJP has accused the Home Minister and the Congress Party of playing vote bank politics and poisoning the atmosphere of the country with communal statements.
The party is holding a nationwide protest against Home Minister Shinde’s remark, seeking his resignation. At Congress’ three-day Chintan Shivir in Jaipur on January 20, Sushil Kumar Shinde had made a sensational statement that BJP and RSS are promoting “Hindu Terror”.
He later retracted and said he was talking about the “saffron terror”, which was reported by various newspapers. However, the damage was already done and he has been on a defensive since then.
Meanwhile, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh have vowed to take the matter to the Parliament, hinting at a stormy budget session ahead.
