MS Dhoni out of Tri-Series, Kohli named Skipper
In the absence of MS Dhoni during a pressure situation, Team India lost to the West Indies in a thriller yesterday. There is more bad news for the team and its die hard fans. Dhoni has been ruled out of the tri-series because of an injury. Virat Kohli has been named as the skipper of the Indian team. Ambati Rayudu will join Team India as Dhoni’s replacement.
Dhoni is suffering from a hamstring injury. He received treatment on field while batting. Later, he did not take the field in the second innings. Rayudu, who is yet to make his international debut, is a wicket-keeper batsman from Baroda.
Although Dinesh Karthik, who has been an integral part of Team India in the recent days, will be the first choice for the keeper’s job, Dhoni’s absence will make things difficult for the team in this series. However, it will be a blessing in disguise for Virat Kohli, who will get a chance to prove his mettle as the skipper.
