IPL 6 : Kolkata win by 6 Wickets
It was a memorable moment for Kolkata Knight Riders that won the tournament in the IPL 6 at their home Eden Gardens. The team beat Kings XI Punjab by six wickets in 18.02 overs tonight.
Punjab’s Azhar Mahmood had jolted Kolkata at the start when Gambhir and Yusuf were out. However, Jacques Kallis and Manvinder Bisla strung together a partnership that slowly got Kolkata back on track. After Kallis got out, Eoin Morgan looked firm on the ground and finished off the game with monstrous blows. Bisla returned to his form and scored his third fifty in the Indian T20 League.
Punjab were restricted to 149/6 in 20 overs after winning the toss. It was a fantastic effort by the bowlers of Kolkata team. The way Bisla (51), Kallis and Morgan (42) played was excellent. Kallis, who was injured in the previous game, fought with great energy. After losing two quick wickets, chasing target 150 was a good effort. Kallis was the MoM for his all-round display. He scored 37 off 33 balls and took two wickets.
