ICC Women’s World Cup: 3 Teams shifted to Hotel Swosti Premium
TNI Bureau: While Pakistani women cricketers did not complain over their accommodations inside the Barabati Stadium for the ICC World Cup, three other teams have shifted their venue to Bhubaneswar-based Hotel Swosti Premium on Thursday.
The three teams included New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, who were staying at Hotel Empires, shifted to Swosti Premium after finishing their net practice at Barabati stadium in Cuttack on Thursday.
According to media reports, the players of three prominent teams wanted to change their venue after expressing unhappiness and dissatisfaction on the accommodations and facilities provided at Hotel Empires.
The ICC officials have not clarified the reason. But it is believed that the players were not happy due to the shortage of rooms in the hotel. The Australian players first raised their voice, which was backed by other teams including South Africa and New Zealand.
However, OCA Secretary Ashirbad Behera said that the decision to shift three teams to Swosti Premium was taken for the security reason.
