Doping: Pradeep Sangwan banned for 18 Months
Delhi pacer Pradeen Sangwan, who failed a random dope test during the IPL 2013, has been banned for 18 months by the BCCI. He won’t be able to play any competitive cricket till November 5, 2014, as the ban was effective May 6, 2013.
Sangwan plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. The BCCI’s Anti-Doping Tribunal found him guilty of anti-doping violation under Article 2.1 of the Code.
Pradeep Sangwan became the second IPL cricketer after Mohammad Asif (Pakistan) to be found guilty of consuming banned substances. He has taken 123 wickets in 38 first-class matches.
