Child Bride escapes from 90-year-old Husband in Saudi Arab
TNI Bureau: While India is debating over the strong punishment for the rapists to provide safety for women, Saudi Arabia is working on introducing laws for the safety of young girls as they are forced to marry people, who are of their grand-father age.
Recently, a 15-year-old Saudi bride escaped from her husband, who is 90-year-old, on the wedding night. The husband threatened her parents to sue a case against them for recovery of £10,750 dowry he had paid to the bride’s parents to marry the child bride.
However, the girl managed to escape from her parents’ home. The groom suspected that there was a conspiracy against him to take the huge amount in the name of marriage.
He is likely to go to the court to get back his dowry amount. Reacting to the issue, the National Society for Human Rights said that the authorities should intervene the matter to save the girl from the old man.
Even though, there was no minimal age limit for marriage in Saudi Arabia, but, the government said that it bring strong law to provide safety of young girls.
