BJP leads in Maharashtra, falls short of Majority
The BJP is all set to become the single largest party in Maharashtra as per the early trends received so far. But, the party may fall short of the magic figure of 145 in the 288-member assembly. Shiv Sena is emerging as the second largest party in the state.
As per the early trends, the BJP is leading in 124 out of 288 seats. Shiv Sena is on the second spot with 659seats, while Congress and NCP are leading in 42 and 40 seats. The MNS is leading in only 4 seats.
According to the poll pundits, BJP may win 125-130 seats in the end. So, it would be interesting to see whether BJP and Shiv Sena join hands again to form the government. Even Shiv Sena and NCP coming together cannot be ruled out. But, BJP may not go with the NCP, it is believed.
