Anna dumps Kejriwal, gets closer to Baba Ramdev
TNI Bureau: Veteran social activist Anna Hazare seems to have come closer with Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev after split with Arvind Kejriwal-led group, opposing to their plans to form a political party.
Anna was found in a surprise meeting held late Wednesday in Delhi and former Army chief General VK Singh was believed to have been present in the meeting.
Media reports claimed that Anna has assured Ramdev to support any non-political movement launched against corruption and black money.
Anna has been keeping distance himself from the political parties and strongly opposing the formation of political party proposed by his team members.
Anna made it clear that his team members were free to form a political party but they cannot not use his name or photo for campaign. He expressed his grief that the team, which had been together for 18 months and fighting against corruption, finally separated.
The anti-graft crusader refused to accept the survey done by the India Against Corruption (IAC), that showed that people are supporting the formation of political party against corruption.
Talking to reporters, he said that he has no problem with their decision as the team has separated now. They can campaign on their own. If the party can get majority in Parliament, it is good.
