Afzal’s Family receives Letter 2 Days After Hanging
TNI Bureau: Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru’s family received a letter today from Tihar jail authority informing about his execution. The letter got delivered by post amidst curfew after 2 days of his hanging.
The letter was addressed to Tabasum, Guru’s wife, informing his execution on February 9. However, the letter carries no meaning to Guru’s family members as the convict has been already hanged to death. It was a crude joke as the letter reached after 2 days on February 11, the family said.
The family claimed that they came to know about the hanging after the news was aired on TV channels. Even the dead body of Guru was not handed over to them. However, the government claimed that Guru’s family has been informed about the hanging date
While the Kashmiris are showing their outrage over the hanging of Guru, the letter appears to have rubbed salt on the family’s wounds.
