Abducted Pattamundai Boy’s Dead Body Recovered
The abduction drama involving the seventh class student in Pattamundai, had a sad end, as the boy was found dead. The abductors were earlier arrested by the commissionerate police in Bhubaneswar on March 6. They were picked up near an ATM in front of Rama Devi Women’s College.
Upon interrogation, the five abductors revealed that they threw the boy into Hansua River in Rajnagar after tying his hands and legs. The criminals were identified as Papu, Hapi, Dipu, Sai and car driver Ashok. The car (OR-05 AK-5575), which was used for abduction, was also recovered.
The boy, Rajkumar Jena, who was studying in Class VII at Praharajpur under Pattamundai police station area, was abducted on March 4. The abductors had demanded Rs 5 lakh ransom from his family. They hail from Pattamundai area, but were staying in Bhubaneswar.
The Pattamundai Police should be held responsible for the murder of the boy, as they took the complaint lightly and started investigation only after 24 hours. That allowed the kidnappers to kill the boy and flee from the area.
