Second Phase Odisha Budget Session begins Today

Bhubaneswar: The second phase of Odisha Budget session began today after a gap of nine days. The House witnessed uproar over Railway budget, which was protested by ruling BJD MLAs. Congress legislators opposed ruling party’s reaction over the Union Railway Budget. However, the House ran smoothly after Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat’s intervention.

In the first hour, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik brought condolence motion for the former Binika MLA. The motion was supported by Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh. All the members observed one-minute silent prayer for the former MLA.

After the question hour round started, the BJD MLAs protested the Union Rail Budget showing placards in the House. The Congress opposed the protest and rushed to the well. The Leader of Opposition also raised question over leak of +2 Physics question papers.

However, normalcy restored after Speaker requested all the members to maintain discipline in the House. Later, all the members raised question over Odia language. They demanded the language should be used in official purpose.
