Aaron Finch decimates Rest of World XI
Yuvraj Singh’s valiant hundred went in vain, as the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) defeated the Rest of the World XI by seven wickets in the lone ODI match at the Lord’s. Aaron Finch played an explosive innings of 181* off 145 balls to see his team through.
Earlier, ROW XI posted 293/7 in 50 overs. Yuvraj scored 132 off 134 balls with 8 boundaries and 6 sixes. Gilchrist (29), Sehwag (22), Collingwood (40) and Peter Siddle (33*) were the other top contributors. Saeed Ajmal took four wickets, while Brett Lee took two wickets.
The MCC started it well, as openers added 107 for the first wicket. Sachin Tendulkar scored 44 off 45 balls with 7 boundaries. Brian Lara contributed 23. Dravid was out first ball, but Shivnarine Chanderpaul remained unbeaten on 37. Finch remained unbeaten on 181 off 145 balls with 23 boundaries and 6 sixes. Collingwood took two wickets.
