BCCI suspends Bilateral Cricket Ties with West Indies
A few days after the West Indies players revolted against their Board and pulled out of the India tour after the fourth ODI, causing heavy losses to the Indian Board, the BCCI has suspended all bilateral cricket ties with the West Indies with immediate effect.
The BCCI has also decided to initiate legal proceedings against the WICB for abruptly cancelling its India tour. The decision was taken at the Working Committee meeting in Hyderabad today. West Indies were scheduled to play 5 ODIs, one T20 and three Test matches. But, the team left after the 4th ODI. India won the series 2-1 with the third match in Vizag getting abandoned due to cyclone.
Meanwhile, the Board appreciated the gesture of Sri Lankan Cricket Board, which agreed to play a five-match ODI series in India on a short notice. The five-match ODI series will begin on November 2. The first match will be played in Cuttack. Other ODI venues are Hyderabad, Ranchi, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
