After taking three quick Indian wickets this morning, England sensed victory in the first Test match at Trent Bridge. However, debutant Stuart Binny played a sensible knock of 78 to deny England any outside chance of win, as the match ended in a tame draw.
After the dismissal of Kohli, Rahane and Dhoni, India were tottering at 184/6 and lost Ravindra Jadeja when the score was 249. From 249/7, they reached 340 and foiled the English game plan. India ended at 391/9 in the second innings.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar too backed Binny with yet another fifty. He remained unbeaten on 63. He scored fifties in both innings. Jajdea scored 31 today, while Rahane made 24. Vijay (52), Dhawan (29) and Pujara (55) were the other top scorers. For England, Moeen Ali took three wickets, while Broad and Plunkett took two wickets each.
Jimmy Anderson was declared ‘Man of the Match’, although Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored two fifties and took his maiden five-wicket haul. On the other hand, Anderson took four wickets in the match and scored 81 in the lone innings he played.
