Quake hits Afghanistan, Tremors felt in Pak, India
A powerful earthquake measuring 6.2 on Richter Scale struck Afghanistan on Wednesday. The tremors were felt in Pakistan and parts of India including New Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. However, there are no initial reports of any damage.
The epicenter was in Mehtar Lam, Afghanistan. While the Pakistan Met department put the intensity of the earthquake at 6.2 magnitude, the USGS said it was 5.7 on the Richter Scale.
The tremors were felt more in parts of Pakistan including Lahore, Abbotabad, Sargodha, Islamabad, Kasur, Peshawar, Swat and Parachinar as well as India’s north regions.
