Rabi Crops sowing crosses 541 Lakh Hactare

As per preliminary reports received from the States, the total area sown under Rabi crops as on 01^st  January, 2015 stands at 541.12 lakh hectares.

Wheat has been sown/transplanted in 271.46 lakh hectares, pulses in 128.24 lakh hectares, coarse cereals in 55.19 lakh hectares. Area sown under oilseeds is 71.47 lakh hectares and Rice is 14.77 lakh hectares.
