Markets in India, US fail to cheer Obama’s Victory

TNI Bureau: The BSE Sensex fell by over 150 points in the opening trade this morning, taking a cue from the global market, including the Wall Street. The Wall Street witnessed its sharp fall after Barack Obama was re-elected as the US President.

The Dow Jones had a turbelent time yesterday, as the American woke up to see Barack Obama getting a second term for four more years. Most Asian markets had collapsed yesterday. Japan’s Nikkei fell by 1.65 per cent.

The BSE Sensex shed 150 points of 0.8 per cent, while the Nifty fell by over 50 points. The US market hoped for a change in the Presidential Polls 2012, but Obama retained the power, defeating Mitt Romney.
