‘Mahasen’ may cause Heavy Rainfall in Odisha
The cyclonic storm ‘Mahasen’ which is set to cross the Bangladesh coast near Chittagong by tomorrow night, may cause heavy rains followed by strong winds in Coastal and South Odisha. However, there is no big threat to the state from the cyclonic storm.
Specific arrangements have been made to evacuate people in the danger zone in case the storm causes heavy impact while moving north-eastwards. The fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea in the next 24 hours.
According to the Met Department, strong and gusty wind with a speed of 40-60 km per hour would prevail over Coastal Odisha for a day or two.
