Hit & Run: Salman charged with Culpable Homicide
A Sessions Court in Mumbai has framed charges against Bollywood Actor Salman Khan in the 11-year-old hit & run case. Salman is charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. If found guilty, he could get a sentence up to 10 years. The actor pleaded not guilty in the case while appearing in the court today.
However, he got a reprieve, as the court exempted him from personal appearance. His case has been transferred to another judge. Earlier, Salman was charged with rash and negligent driving. But, the metropolitan magistrate invoked more serious charges against him after examining the witnesses.
One person was killed and four others were injured when a Land Cruiser allegedly driven by Salman Khan ran over a group of footpath dwellers in Mumbai’s Bandra in the wee hours of September 28, 2002.
