Pritam Panda (PP), the young heartthrob in Fashion world from Odisha brings laurels to the state as well as India after winning the Murex 2012-13 in Italy yesterday. The Indian origin Designer won the Murex Youth Insperezione 2012-13 after beating up 4 other nominees namely Sabbah Dagger (Italy), Jonathan Race (Dubai), Lee McGirth (China) and Avil Angrowlin (China).
The fashion connoisseur received the trophy at the extravagantly plush and classy 12th Murex Global Design Awards 2012-13 last evening at Naples in Italy.
The designer was awarded with the Murex by renowned Italian Film Star Andrew Symons and former Italian Miss World Famesa Lior, who happens to be an international Social Activist these days.
The Murex Global design Awards is in its 12th year and is one of the most prestigious awards in the world of Fashion and retail industry.

Talking to ‘The News Insight’ on phone Panda said, “I was preparing for a long speech since a month now for the Italians, but the moment my name was announced it was all wiped out off my brain. I started fumbling and it was all in English. (I) can’t stop thanking God for all that he has bestowed on me till date and my parents who have been a great support ever since I thought of being a designer.”
“A big thanks to Moet & Chandon and the Indian Embassy who showed their support in my work and even thought of proposing my name for the nominations and a big hug to the jury who felt, I deserved this Murex! Big thanks to everyone back home (in Odisha) who have been praying their hearts out for me to win and have been pouring there well wishes”, he also said.
The award makes PP the first ever Indian origin citizen to be nominated and henceforth win the Murex. Along with the trophy, the designer has also finalized tie ups with few international stores and labels to head the design departments.
The designer would be a member of the team of the Murex Design Fraternity and would be an invited guest for all the events that will be done worldwide for the year 2013-14 along with featuring in the promos of the 13th Murex Global design Awards 2013/14.
