Canadian Court summons Tahirul Qadri over Oath Violation
TNI Bureau: Minhajul Quran International (MQI) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, who emerged as a powerful leader during political crisis in Pakistan, will have to appear before the Canadian Federal court. The Canadian authorities have summoned him for violating his oath he had taken while seeking asylum in Canada.
Qadri, who is called ‘Anna Hazare’ by media, is a Pakistani-origin Canadian citizen. He returned to the country last year after spending 6 years in Canada. He stormed the country through his protest demanding the government for early elections in the country.
However, he was slapped with a court summon that sought his appearance in Canada. The Canadian federal court has summoned him seeking his explanation for violating his asylum oath.
The Canadian authorities said that Qadri has violated the oath that stated that he was not allowed to enter Pakistan. The leader is scheduled to fly to Canada on January 27 after he received the summon notice.
