Bhubaneswar, Feb 19: The 9th KIIT Premier League (KPL) All India (D&N) T-20 Cricket Tournament was inaugurated on 18th February in KIIT cricket stadium. International cricketer Pravin Kumar; MP (RS) and Ollywood star Anubhav Mohanty and Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS joined the inaugural ceremony.
Addressing the gathering Pravin Kumar said, it is good initiative by KIIT University as it is the biggest cricket tournament in university level with highest prize money. He praised the Dr. Samanta for his initiatives to promote sports with education. Anubhab Mohanty said, KIIT & KISS have brought laurels to Odisha in the field of sports as well as education.
It is pride for Odisha he added. For the first time an international team has participated in KPL. Welcoming the participants Dr. Samanta Said, KIIT & KISS have given importance to sports and education equally. Students of KISS have brought laurels to Odisha by achieving many national and international sports and games. An exhibition match was played between Odia Cine Star-XI and Mayor-XI, where Anubhav Mohanty lead the Cine Star-XI and Ananta Narayan Jene, Mayor Bhubaneswar, Municipality was lead the Mayor-XI.

In the opening matach Odia Super Star XI beat Mayor XI by 60 runs.
