Two School Students drowned in Kansbahal Dam
Rourkela (By Aurobinda Das): Two Class-X students of MGM English Jagda, Rourkela were drowned in Kansbahal Dam (40km away from Rourkela). Another boy is critically injured and being treated at the Ispat General Hospital (IGH).
The deceased have been identified as Abhisek Sahoo of Jagda and Bisal Gupta of Koelnagar. The injured boy is Adarsa Singh of Chhend Colony.
According to the sources, these three students along with four of their other classmates Niraj Ray, Debabrata Mohanty, Sudhir DungDung and Ashrit Rout had been to Kansbahal Dam in three Motor Cycles for Picnic on Sunday. Both Abhisek and Bisal dived into the water reservoir for swimming but sooner they were trapped in water current.
To rescue them, two other of their friends jumped into. Though the local villagers tried their best to rescue the boys but the lives of Abhisek and Bisal could not be saved.
After getting the shocking news from the Police, the parents of the boys and School management representatives rushed the spot. The police have sent the bodies for postmortem. One student was reportedly being questioned in connection with the mishap.
