Rs 70 Lakh Looted from Builder’s Son in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Nov 30: In a daring incident, some bike-borne miscreants on Saturday looted a city-based builder’s son Biswajit Sahu in the broad-day light near Naveen Nivas and took away with Rs 70 lakh cash on showing sharp weapons to Sahu and his driver Mohan Sahoo.
According to sources, the ugly incident took place at around 10.30 am when Biswajit, son of Ugrashen Sahu a well-known builder and running his Jagat Jiban infrastructure office in forest park area, was in his car (OR02BG2626) with Rs 70 lakhs cash to deposit the sum of money at the KIIT branch of Allahabad Bank. On the half way near Naveen Nivas, some miscreants hit Sahu’s car from the front and stopped the car showing sharp weapons.
Creating fear, the miscreants took away Rs. 70 lakhs cash which was kept in a bag from Sahu’s car and fled from the spot. The incident came to light when the builder Ugrashen staying at plot No-HIG-13 in Pokhariput area under Airfield police station, lodged a complaint with the local police here this afternoon.
Acting on the complaint, the police started investigation into the matter. Meanwhile twin city Commissioner Dr RP Sharma along with DCP Nitinjeet Singh interrogated builder’s son and his driver to ascertain the facts in reaching near culprits for their arrest.
