Odisha Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy has triggered a massive outrage by using unsavoury language against BJP MLA from Brajarajnagar, Mrs. Radharani Panda inside the Assembly. Although Maharathy has denied the allegations, the BJP has taken up this matter at the highest level.
According to Radharani Panda, Maharathy abused her when she along with party MLAs were protesting against the chit fund scam and demanding the resignation of CM Naveen Patnaik. The BJP MLA called it as an attack on womanhood. Congress MLA from Aul, Debendra Sharma confirmed that Maharathy indeed abused Radharani Panda.

After BJP lodged a strong complaint on this matter, Speaker Niranjan Pujari called an all-party meeting, which failed to resolve the issue. It would be interesting to see what will be the ruling of the Speaker tomorrow. If he ignores the BJP MLA’s plea, the Opposition may not allow the House to run smoothly.
Meanwhile, the BJP’s women wing and youth wing members protested outside Maharathy’s house, demanding his ouster. They also burnt his effigy.
