OJM Strength stands at 3 Lakh, claims Pyari Mohapatra
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) led by Pyari Mohan Mohapatra has reached new heights, if we believe the claims made by its founder. According to Pyari, the membership of OJM now stands at three lakh, which is a staggering figure for the four-month-old political front.
Pyari further announced that he would launch a political party soon, which would fight the next assembly polls. He also claimed that out of 3 lakh OJM members, 1.95 came from the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and 70,000 from the Congress.
The membership drive officially began on November 10. As per Pyari’s estimates, 27 lakh BJD members would join him by the time he floats the new political party. He is expected to form the party before April 19, 2013.
After holding rallies in Bhubaneswar, Baripada, Bhawanipatna and Jeypore, Pyari is gearing up to organise two more rallies in Sambalpur on February 22 and Berhampur on March 22.
