Human Rights Activist Akhand Awarded
Human Rights Activist Akhand awarded with ‘Seva Sanskar Award’ at Jariput in Khurdha on January 05. Dr Dillip Sri Chandan and Professor Dr. Narayan Rao presented the award to Akhand. This award is instituted by Seva Sanskar Sansad, a local organization of Khurdha.
Akhand is an Independent grass-root rural Journalist and Human Rights Defender from India. Till now more than 6000 persons have been benefited by the intervention of Akhand and more than millions of people are the beneficiaries in view of policy making after the judgment of Apex rights panel i.e. National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Before this award, Akhand was awarded with Neheru Yuva Kendra Award, Utkal Samaja Award for Science Writing, Dibakar Mansingh Memorial prize, Sarojini Naidu Prize (National Award) for Development Reporting on Women’s Role in Panchayati Raj System in Indian(2008) and Kalinga Book Fair Writer Award for his book Political Love(2011).
