Raghu Mohanty’s Son arrested in Dowry Harassment case
Former Odisha Law Minister Raghunath Mohanty’s son Rajashree was arrested on charges of dowry harassment soon after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) to probe the case.
A five-member team of HRPC on Saturday had started investigation into the case from Raghu Mohanty’s daughter-in-law Barsha Soni’s house with recording statements of the complainant and her parents. The team had conducted several raids at Basta and other areas in Balasore and arrested Rajashree on Saturday night.
Earlier, Raghu Mohanty had to resign from his post following the allegations levelled by Barsha Soni against him in dowry torture case. The House was paralysed over the issue and Opposition Congress rejected the order for HRPC probe demanding special discussion on the issue.
