TNI Bureau: A five-month-old baby, who was beaten by her father mercilessly, died after battling for her life in Jaipur. She died of breathing problems even after undergoing successful surgery.

The baby from Bikaner was kept in the ICU. She had undergone the first of two major reconstruction surgeries on February 1. The second surgery was likely to be a month later.

However, the baby developed respiratory problems last night. The doctors treating the baby, put her on ventilator, but she could not be saved.

Deepak Kalra, chairperson of the Rajasthan Child Rights Commission, said that it was a complicated case. However, they had hoped that the victim will get recovered after the first successful surgery.

The baby was critical. She was beaten on her nose and lips by her father, who was drunkard. She was beaten on the night of January 26. Her father was arrested after her mother filed a complaint. The mother had to face the anger of her in-laws for her move against her husband. She was thrown out of her home.

With the death of the baby, the father will be charged for murder.
