TNI Bureau: The poverty stricken Balangir district has witnessed another row of death. One Rebati Putel (32) has suicide along with her daughter and son in Belpada, situated 60 km southwest from the district Headquarters, in the Bangomunda block of Balangir district.
As per the information received, Hari Putel of Belpada is a daily wage labor and had migrated to a different state for livelihood along with his father Dinger and mother Yashobanti in the last few years. However, as the health of his old father and mother declined recently, the family had planned to send Rebati, wife of Hari to migrate along with her husband to earn livelihood.
But Rebati was not comfortable with the idea of migration and hence denied to the proposal as per reports.
But for reasons unknown, today Rebati was found dead along with her 7 year old daughter Kalyani Putel and 1 and half year old son Krushna. Preliminary report says that they had consumed a pesticide, commonly used in cotton harvesting, which has big poisonous effect if consumed by humans. The pesticide is suspected to be ‘Thimet’.
The immediate reason of death may be different, but all the clues lead to the fact that poverty was the most probable reason that finally took lives of the innocent three in this case.
