Rahul Gandhi visits Hudhud affected Koraput
Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi today visited Koraput district of Odisha to take stock of areas affected by Cyclone Hudhud.
The Gandhi scion interacted with cyclone affected people and assured them that his party will help them in getting back to normal life.
Gandhi also met the farmers of the region at Jeypore, who suffered huge loss to their crops due to the cyclone Hudhud. While the farmers complained that they have not been properly compensated by the government, he promised the farmers that his party will address the state government’s apathy towards the farmers of these backward areas.
The Congress vice president also visited cyclone affected Burujua and Pottangi in Koraput district before undertaking an aerial survey of Malkangiri district.
Former Chief Minister Giridhar Gamango, Leader of opposition Narisingha Mishra, State PCC chief Jayadev Jena, Congress’ Odisha incharge BKHriprasad, MLAs Taraprasad Bahinipati and Chandraskhar Majhi and other congress leaders accompanied Gandhi’s visit to the Maoist dominated areas after cyclone Hudhud.
