He-Man Of Indian Cinema Dharmendra passes away at 89

TNI Bureau: The legendary “He-Man” of Bollywood film industry, Dharmendra Deol breathed his last on Monday. He was 89.

Veteran actor Dharmendra, who had recently been discharged from the Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, had been recovering at home under medical supervision.

Over his six-decade-long career, Dharmendra acted in more than 300 films from action and romance to comedy and drama.

His movies included Sholay (1975), Chupke Chupke (1975), Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Satyakam’ (1969), Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Dream Girl (1977), The Burning Train (1980) and many more.

From a small village in Punjab, he moved to Mumbai and stepped into films in 1960 with ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’.

Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Salim Khan, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, Rajkumar Santoshi, Salman Khan, Siddharth Roy Kapur and several others paid their last respects.

Earlier today, Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol has been spotted at Pawan Hans Cremation Ground alongside heavy security.
