Ravindra Jadeja – 1st Indian to score 3 Triple Hundreds
TNI Bureau: All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who failed to make any impact at the international level during the last 12 months, has achieved a rare milestone, as he became the first Indian in history to hit three triple-hundreds in first class cricket.
Also, Jadeja became the only Indian cricketer to score two triple hundreds in one calendar year. He had scored a triple hundred against Gujarat on November 12. He again scored one yesterday against the Railways. Jadeja is playing for Saurashtra. He had scored his maiden triple hundred against Odisha at Cuttack in 2011.
For India, VVS Laxman and Wasim Jaffer have scored two triple hundreds in first class cricket. Virender Sehwag has not scored any in first class cricket, but he has scored two triple hundreds in the Tests.
Jadeja is also the eighth batsman in the history of first class cricket to score three or more triple hundreds. Sir Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Bill Ponsford, Wally Hammond, W G Grace, Graeme Hick and Mike Hussey are the other players.
