With this, Ricky Ponting’s illustrious test career came to an end. He scored 13,378 runs in 168 test matches at an average of 51.85. He scored 41 centuries with six double hundreds. His highest score remains at 257. He also took 196 catches.
In ODI, Ponting scored 13,704 runs in 375 matches at an average of 42.03. He scored 20 centuries with the highest score at 164. He powered Australia to win two World Cups in 2003 and 2007. He was also part of the winning squad in 1999 World Cup.
