While there is a growing suspicion that many private colleges are behind the Plus II Physics and Chemistry question paper leak, the Crime Branch in Odisha has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting three key people in connection with this case.

The arrested people included Kartik Barik, chairman of Sandilya College of Science and Commerce, Devendra Behera, CHSE Deputy Secretary (Sambalpur Zone) and Subhas Barik, marketing agent of Sandilya College.

Crime Branch ADG, Mr. BK Sharma told the media that students of Sandilya College of Science and Commerce had received Physics question papers before the scheduled examination. The deal between Mr. Devendra Behera and Kartik Barik was worth Rs 3 lakh. Sandilya College reportedly received the English and Physics question papers.

While the Congress and other opposition parties in Odisha are demanding the resignation of Higher Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra in this case, the BJD has demanded the arrest of Kalahandi MP Bhakta Charan Das, who had alleged recommended the exam centre for Mahalinga Anchalik Mahavidyalaya in Kalahandi district, which has been under the scanner for the question paper leak.

Many other key players are reportedly involved in the question paper racket. A detailed probe would lead to the tumbling of more skeletons.
