Odisha Gana Sikshyaks get a Pay Hike
Four days after announcing a pay hike for the Siksha Sahayaks and Junior Teachers in Odisha, the government has come up with a big bonanza for the Gana Sikshyaks today. The hike was announced by School & Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda in the Assembly today.
As per the new policy with effective from April 1, 2013, Gana Sikshyaks, who have worked up to the satisfaction level for the last six years, will be considered as seniors. Additionally, if they are matriculates, they will get Rs 3,700 per month.
Those, who have done matriculation along with CT, +2 or +3 and are senior as per the new policy, will get Rs 4,200 per month. The trained +2 and +3 passed-out Gana Sikshyaks with seniority, will get a monthly salary of Rs 5,200 per month.
The Gana Sikshyaks who have completed +2 or more along with required training and completed six years of work satisfactorily or three years after training, will be taken as Zilla Parishad Group-II teachers. They will get Rs 7,000 per month.
The Gana Sikshyaks, who complete three years as Group-II Zilla Parishad teachers, will become regular Zilla Parishad teachers. According to Mr. Rabi Narayan Nanda, at least 22,724 Gana Sikshyaks will be benefited from the new policy, while the government will bear an additional burden of Rs 123.07 crore per year.
