India shows Rare Political Unity against Pakistan

Date:

Hours after the Pakistan’s Parliament meddled in India’s internal affairs and passed a resolution, condemning the hanging of Afzal Guru, political parties here joined hands and passed a similar resolution, slamming the resolution adopted by Pakistan’s National Assembly.

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar moved the resolution, condemning Pakistan’s motion. The resolution got the endorsement from all political parties that showed unity in diversity.

The resolution passed by Lok Sabha stated, “Kashmir is and will always be a part of India. Any country interfering in India’s internal affairs will be met with a resolute and united response”.

By passing a resolution in favour of Afzal Guru, Pakistan has virtually admitted to its role in the 2001 Parliament Attack in India. Guru was the prime accused in that attack. He was later convicted and hanged to death.
