A seven-year-old girl became the latest victim of sexual assault in Delhi, as she was raped at a government school in Mangolpuri area in north-west Delhi. Around 300 people went on a rampage outside the hospital where she is being treated.

The locals burst into anger as the news broke out. They vandalised buses and other shops. Two policemen sustained injuries during the clash. The locals accused the police of inaction.

The girl is a Standard II student at a primary schol run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). She was reportedly raped by an unidentified man inside the school campus on Thursday afternoon.

The police have detained a few people for questioning. No formal arrests have been made so far.
