TNI Bureau: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has questioned the Odisha government’s claim that 96 per cent of grievances received during the Chief Minister’s public hearing programme have been resolved, demanding that details of the cases and beneficiaries be made public.
Addressing a press conference at Sankha Bhawan, BJD spokesperson and media coordinator Dr. Lenin Mohanty said the government’s claim does not reflect the ground reality. He asked the state government to disclose how many complaints have actually been resolved and what relief has been provided to the complainants.
Mohanty pointed out that the Chief Minister has attended only 18 grievance hearing sessions in the two years since the government assumed office. He questioned the basis of the claim that 96 per cent of complaints have been resolved and urged the government to publish details of the beneficiaries.
The BJD leader also sought clarity on whether complaints forwarded to district collectors or concerned departments are being treated as resolved, or whether citizens have actually received permanent solutions to their problems.
Demanding transparency, the party called on the government to release a detailed list of the grievances claimed to have been resolved, along with information on the action taken and outcomes achieved in each case.
