TNI Bureau: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi against whom an FIR has been lodged for alleged hate speech, was taken to a hospital for medical test. He had appealed the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking a stay order on his arrest citing ill health.

Owaisi underwent a medical test at the Gandhi hospital amidst tight security on Tuesday. The investigating officer of Adilabad police was also present during the test. He was being examined by a team of doctors including a cardiologist, orthopedician and general surgeon.

The MIM MLA had evaded arrest on medical grounds saying he was suffering from pain. He had sought four days time before the Nirmal police for interrogation.
