Arjun Munda quits as Jharkhand CM

TNI Bureau: The BJP-led government in Jharkhand recommended the Assembly dissolution as Chief Minister Arjun Munda submitted his resignation after the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) withdrew support to coalition government in the state.

Munda submitted his resignation to the Governor Syed Ali Naqi today. The JMM, which has been threatening to pull out of the government on change of leadership and power sharing issues, its members also met the governor and submitted the letter of withdrawal of support.

The BJP made it clear that it will not approach any other political party to form the government. On the othe hand, the JMM is talking to the Congress to form a coalition government.

The big political crisis in the state surfaced after the JMM asked CM Arjun Munda to step down from the post. The coalition partner put three options before the party asking for a change of leadership within the BJP, Arjun Munda to quit or hand over the power to JMM to rule the state.
