TNI Bureau: The massive protests in Delhi over the gangrape intensified. The protesters were lathicharged while marching towards Rashtrapati Bhavan and shouted slogans at Rajpath on Saturday. The Rapid Action Force has been deployed at the protest site to prevent violence.

The police resorted to lathicharge, used water cannons and tear gas shells after thousands of protesters broke the barricades and shouted slogans at Rajpath demanding justice for the gangrape victim, who is battling for life at Safdarjung hospital.

The Home ministry said that the protesters should not indulge into violence. Police are taking measures to control the crowd. Meanwhile, the sixth accused has been arrested from Bihar in connection with the case.
