Student Kills Himself for Failing To Pay Rs. 250
TNI Bureau: Alekh Chandra Mandal (15), a class10 student from Balasore has allegedly killed himself after being not allowed to sit in the examination as he could not pay a fine of Rs. 250 that he was levied for the required lack of attendance in the school.
Mandal, a resident of Khandahar village in the district of Balasore of Odisha hails from a daily wage laborers’ family and allegedly killed himself by consuming poison yesterday because his parents couldn’t pay the Rs 250 fine imposed by the school as per police. The boy was reportedly upset after the school authorities refused him to allow on a test that was scheduled to begin today. His parents expressed their inability to arrange the money in short notice.
After the boy was found in a wretched condition after consuming poison, he was immediately shifted to a hospital, but he later died after several hours of treatment.
Police have not ceased any suicide note in this connection but have registered a case against the school Head master on the basis of a complaint lodged by the boy’s father as well as investigation.
